THAUMATURGIST THURSDAY: Amethyst Repost

I know I’ve done a post for amethyst before, but it’s the birthstone for February so I figured I would do it again.

Amethyst is purple quartz. It comes in many different shades and has many different uses. The most common use is preventing intoxication. This idea comes from the ancient Greeks and the name amethyst, which comes from them, literally means “not intoxicated.” I can be worn, or a piece can be put in your glass to prevent intoxication. It can also help overcome and heal from substance abuse. Amethyst is also good for psychiatric healing and helps overcome nightmares. It is thought to bring peace to the mind. Amethyst can be used for protection, bravery, love, and finding happiness.

Amethyst is a beautiful and prized stone. It has been collected and made into jewelry for several millennia and will probably continue to be for many more.
