WITCHTIP TUESDAY: Research the Attributes of the God or Goddess Before Calling on Them for Assistance.

WITCHTIP TUESDAY: Research the Attributes of the God or Goddess Before Calling on Them for Assistance. This one is pretty self explanatory. Most people know you don't want to summon Aphrodite for help with a financial issue or Ares for help with childbirth, but many gods have talents we don't normally talk about. So spend a little time getting to know your diety before summoning them in a ritual. That's all for this post. Have a great day. Blessed be. #pagan #witchtip #witch #witchcraft #witchtiptuesday #gods #goddesses

THAUMATURGIST THURSDAY: No Stones This Week.

Image
Thaumaturgist Thursday: I'm sorry but there are no stones today.  In lost another kitten this morning. One of my healthy ones has started struggling, so I decided to make an offering to the goddess Bast and ask for her help. For anyone who doesn't know, Bast or Bastet is the Egyptian cat goddess. I hope she likes Valarian and catnip as much as my cats do. I also added some peppermint and lavender. It actually smells really nice in my house now. #witch #witchcraft #pagan #cats #fosterkittenstruggles #bast #bastet

WITCHY WEDNESDAY: No Herbs This Week

Image
WITCHY WEDNESDAY: No herbs this week. Due to a sudden change in circumstances I have had to scrap the majority of my Mabon plans this year, including the ones involving social media and my blog. Saturday I was asked to care for five kittens that are less than a month old, in addition to the three I was already caring for. I enjoy caring for kittens this small despite the difficulty involved, so understand that I’m not complaining. Unfortunately, these kittens are not in the best of health and require more care than I originally anticipated. Instead of the feeding sessions for all of them taking less than half an hour, it’s taking almost an hour because I have to take more time feeding the sickly kittens. Despite my best efforts, one of the kittens crossed the rainbow bridge this afternoon and one of her sisters is struggling to survive. Thankfully, the other three are thriving. All of this has resulted in a lot of stress and very little rest. Basically, my brain is fried. So, this we

Matching Herbs for Better Results

Image
WITCH TIP TUESDAY: Try matching the properties of your herbs when creating spells and medicines. This is something that I recently noticed while creating both spells and medicines. If the herbs have common properties that link them together, the medicine or spell works more effectively. I am going to try to explain it and I hope I can make it easy to understand. When you are making a medicinal item, make sure to check the magical properties of the herbs you are using and try to link them together with common properties. Here’s and example using the herbs often found in chicken soup: Rosemary- protection, love, healing Sage- protection Marjoram- love, protection Thyme- love, healing Garlic- protection, healing Notice how they can all be linked together by the properties they have in common? This is what makes them work well as a team for you. Think of it as matchmaking. You want your items to have things in common, so they work well together, much like matching a couple

(Missed post) WITCHY WEDNESDAY: Lemon Balm, a.k.a. Melissa

Image
WITCHY WEDNESDAY: Lemon Balm, a.k.a. Melissa Lemon Balm is an herb that has a mild lemon scent and flavor. It is sometimes called Melissa or Balm. If you are having trouble finding the herb in an herbal manual, look under one of those names. It is a type of mint, and like all mints, spreads easily so you may want to keep it in a pot if you decide to grow it. Be warned that it may escape despite your best efforts. I tried to grow it in a pot, and it still escaped and is growing in my yard. It’s a nice plant with soft stems that the bees love, so there’s not reason to panic about it. Medicinally, lemon balm is most often used to treat stomach ailments such as flatulence and stomachache. It also has antidepressant properties and can be used to treat anxiety and is especially good for treating anxiety-based stomach ailments. Lemon balm is an herb that is thought of as being safe for almost anyone, although it is not proven safe for pregnant women and is not recommended during pregnan

THAUMATURGIST THURSDAY: Blue Obsidian

Image
THAUMATURGIST THURSDAY: Blue Obsidian Like all forms of obsidian, blue obsidian is good for protection, disillusionment, divination, and gaining peace. In addition to that, it is good for aiding in astral travel and making people more accepting of healing energy. It is currently only found in the volcanic regions of Mexico, and some suspect that it is an artificial or man-made stone. Like regular obsidian, it is delicate, shatters easily, and has no crystalline structure. I hope you liked reading this. Have a great day. Blessed be. #witch #witchcraft #pagan #blueobsidian #thaumaturgistthursday #witchtip
